After a career with the City of San Antonio, President Armando “Rocky” Aranda, Jr, wanted to explore the federal arena and started working as an infrastructure management consultant. This effort quickly led to a role as a general contractor. In 2006, he began Milcon Construction, LLC, a SBA HUBZone general contracting company.

His vision for Milcon was simple: deliver quality results and unmatched expertise with unique capabilities and satisfaction to each and every customer. Through this vision and numerous teaming agreements nationwide, Milcon has successfully completed a historical preservation project at Ft. Sam Houston, remodeling of the Randolph Fire Station, and several renewable energy projects across the State of Texas. Milcon currently has three offices and employs more than 40 employees.

Milcon has been featured in several publications including the San Antonio Business Journal, Public Works Magazine and Construction Today. One of the most recent achievements for Aranda was receiving the SBA Small Business Person of the Year Award for Region VI.

Aranda credits the support and resources of both the San Antonio SBA Office and the UTSA MBDA Business Center for the success of this company. Aranda also credits his supportive family and entrepreneurial parents who instilled in him a strong work ethic and values.
